Greetings friends and patrons,

Our Kids have headed back to School and we aren’t “whining”, we are “WINEING”! Kevin Powell of Vinalandia will be here to pour wine from 430pm to 630pm this Thursday evening.

Just a reminder… 

J.M. Hirsch will be joining us on Thursday, September 16th to launch his Newly Released Cookbook, High Flavor Low Labor. J.M. Hirsch is the food editor for the Associated Press and frequent customer of Butter’s. Those delicious recipes and photos, quite often include ingredients from our store!

*September 16th will also include a book signing, food sampling, wine tasting, and special filming with WMUR’s Chronicle!*

Our neighbors, “Things Are Cooking” are celebrating their 20th Anniversary! WOW! Join them as they celebrate the weekend of September 17th, 18th and 19th, with demos, in-store specials and good cheer!

We have added some great NEW product to the store this week. Robie Farm has dropped off a wheel of their cheese, “ManchVegas”. It’s complex, sharp, and has some great cheddar qualities to it. We also welcome Fox Country Smoke House to our cooler section in our market area. We have some great smoked cheeses, smoked kielbasa, smoked bacon and smoked nuts! (All New Hampshire Made!)

*We will have a few more new products to add to the cooler next week…think whoopie pies and Cheesecake, oh my!*

The weather forecast is calling for the weekend to be HOT. Our Rose’ selection is on the front table, and the table of our Mix & Match Summer Wine Special is full and ready for your choosing! This is the LAST weekend of these selections!

Butter’s Fine Food and Wine Loves Lake Winnipesaukee Chocolates

Lake Winnipesaukee Chocolates has been a long time friend of Butter’s Fine Food and Wine. The Lake Winnipesaukee Chocolate Company has found a home at the Butter’s Fine Food and Wine Store on Main Street Concord, NH, in fact, we consider the chocolates a mainstay of our Downtown Concord shop.

The reason that we’re writing about Lake Winnipesaukee Chocolates is because we continue to be impressed with the product. They made the cut a while ago and they never disappoint.

We have become so confident about the chocolate that comes from Johnathan and Sally, that we decided it was time to lauch the product on our online store. What we were reminded of as we sorted through all of the different chocolate bars that they have to offer was that Johnathan and Sally are not only masters of their craft, but they understand culinary balance. They understand quality. And, they have the creative ability to always keep it interesting.

We are grateful that Lake Winnipesaukee Chocolates is a part of the Butter’s Fine Food and Wine family of foods.

Butter’s Fine Food and Wine Visits Fox Country Smokehouse

Yesterday I had a chance to visit Bill Annis at the Fox Country Smokehouse in Canterbury, NH.  Bill was smoking up a new batch of sharp cheddar cheese in the original smoker to replenish the depleted stock.  The smoke smelled sweet and fantastic!  I got a whiff of hickory as the smoky aroma leaked into the retail shop.

Bill and I  discussed all of his products and they have a lot of them!  I was amazed at the variety and I just couldn’t ignore the quality of the foods found at the Fox Country Smoke House and how well those foods seem to meld into  the Butter’s Fine Food and Wine family of foods.   I was amazed at the items that they carried- all kinds of smoked cheeses, kielbasa of varies flavors, sausage, duck, whole chickens and turkeys, and pork loin.  The list goes on and on.    Did you know that you can smoke a whole chicken and shrink-wrap it in a ready to eat package?  I didn’t. 

That’s why I take these trips… to get off the beaten path and explore new culinary treats, and then, bring them back to the store to share with you! 

Bill and I starting talking about forming a culinary business relationship and before I knew  it, I had a table full of product picked out and ready  to bring to the newly emptied coolers at the store. (the craft beer that was in the cooler now sits atop two of our nice oak wine racks- it’s much easier to view the beer)

So here’s a list of most of the items that we are now carrying at Butter’s Fine Food and Wine from the Fox Country Smokehouse as a result of my trip:

Cheese:

• Smoked Pepperjack
• Smoked Mozzerella

We’re also carrying Fox Country’s Smokehouse Cashews. 

Look for all these products at the store at 70 North Main Street, Downtown Concord, NH (Exit 14 off Interstate 93).  We’ll keep exploring other products from The Fox Country Smokehouse too as more products become available.  Perhaps we’ll grab some whole smoked turkeys around Thanksgiving!  That would be a delicious new spin on an old-time favorite…so stay tuned.
